Context

I’m creating a fun alternative to traditional restaurant search experience on mobile phones. Using APIs and your phone, the experience can be a lot more fun and engaging.

Process

My bot will use the Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services Facial Recognition API to analyze an image. Then, based on the emotion detected, a response will pass to a method via a variable. This method will then return a relevant GIF of a food type through the Giphy API. Based on the food type, I will use the Zomato API to suggest a restaurant.

Reflection

While this is a fun app, I would love it to make it a lot more advanced, such as making more nuanced recommendations based on time of day and even connecting it to a food delivery service. Possibly even sharing the emotion and food recommendation with friends.
