HalvoBot

Intention

I made this bot as a means of self exploration into my goals, passions, and talents. I designed it so that a recruiter could use it to learn those things about me in an intuitive way.

Context

I was inspired by a previous student's project who also made a recruiter-bot. I thought it would be a great way to not only learn how to code an SMS bot but also to do some self-reflection.

Process

I focused on creating an experience that always has a "way out." If you ever get lost down the chat tree, you can always send "index" to get a full picture of the bot's capabilities. There are also some little hidden surprises that may or may not appear which were also fun to add in.

Product

I made a self-contained chat interface that talks about my interests and passions. Rather than add superfluous functions, I focused on creating a comprehensive yet contained chat bot that also has a bit of fun.

Reflection

I learned a lot about myself through programming the responses. In order to talk about yourself you have to understand yourself, so I got a lot out of it in that regard. However, the actual implementation is not very complex, so I look forward to adding more complexities in future projects.
