Diot 2019: Social Objects - Part 3

This project helps people "stay in touch" with their loved ones who are living at a distance from each other. By subtly augmenting an everyday object; the picture frame, within its natural surroundings, we aim to create opportunities to magically convey the message of being missed from one end to the other.

Internet technologies are constantly evolving in such a way that they require extreme delicacy and care. A common observation of younger generations is that they are typically more likely to exhibit violent behaviors and are less likely to engage with other people. Our solution presents gamified enforcement of socialization, care, and collaboration to save the stickman from being hurt due to their excessive applied force when playing the game.

With our product, we were seeking to communicate emotions through a wristband wearable with a simple button press to let loved ones know they are thinking of each other regardless of distance or schedule constraints. They’re also able to communicate whether they’re stressed and can respond with a soothing blue light to calm them down.

Passive-aggression is an unhealthy style of conflict resolution, which often harms relationships. Devie bridges the communication gaps between a couple during the time of passive-aggressiveness and allows them to build healthy conflict resolution habits.

We made a very simple and intuitive way to remind people to work out, and motivate them to work out with friends.

Create a feeling of togetherness for a couple who is living apart through the experience of watching a scary movie together using the power of connected social devices.

Our project is an interactive installation that investigates what viral messages would look like in analog form, in public places where social interactions rarely occur anymore. Can we re-analog-ize viral information and nudge social interactions at bus stops?

Our creative project is to help friends and couples connect with each other in a subtle and fun way. The device is a basic 8 by 8 square LED matrix and serves as a canvas for both sides to draw.
